Simon School Announces $5 Million New York State Scholarship Fund

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Simon School of Business is establishing a scholarship fund for New York State residents to recognize and invest in top candidates who are admitted for full-time MBA or MS business study. The School will designate $5 million over the next three years to the Simon Business School New York State Scholarship Fund to provide tuition assistance for outstanding New York State residents who are admitted and begin their studies from June 2014 through September 2016.

Full- and partial-tuition scholarships starting at $20,000 per year will be awarded to highly qualified full-time MBA or MS candidates whose academic, work, leadership, and extracurricular profiles are significantly above the norm for enrolling students.

"The Simon School is dedicating scholarship dollars to this fund to underscore our commitment to investing in the economic development of our State and region," says Dean Mark Zupan. "One way to promote our area's economic health is by retaining top talent here where it will make a significant impact."

Scholarship candidates must meet standard Simon School admissions criteria, have current residency in New York State at the time of their application to the program, and be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (green-card holder). Applicants will be automatically considered for scholarships based upon New York State residency and U.S. citizen/permanent resident status.
