Boeing Wins $284 Million in Defense Contracts
The Department of Defense announced $2.61 billion worth of contracts Tuesday in 52 separate awards --- and Boeing won three of them. Specifically, the aerospace giant landed contracts for:
$225 million: a contract modification to provide the U.S. Navy with six operational flight trainers, six weapons tactics trainers, two part-task trainers, one training systems support center, three 10-seat electronic classrooms, and one 20-seat electronic classroom for use in training to operate P-8A Poseidon subhunting aircraft from Low Rate Initial Production Lot IV and Full Rate Production Lot I. This contract will run through March 2018.
$52.4 million: a firm-fixed-price, option-eligible, non-multi-year contract to supply and support (an estimated) 48 Lot 3 remanufacture, Lot 3 new-build, and Lot 4 remanufactured Apache Block III attack helicopters to the U.S. Army.
$6.9 million: a contract modification to perform non-recurring engineering work needed for upgrades to AN/APG-79 active electronically scanned array radio detection hardware, and ranging general purpose processors used aboard Navy F/A-18 fighter-bombers and EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft. This contract should be complete by February 2014.
