Teleflex Features ARROW®JACC with Chlorag+ard®Technology, the Only Long-Term Antimicrobial and Antithrombogenic CVC, and ARROW®VPS G4™ Vascular Positioning Device at the 2013 AVA Conference

New Innovations from Teleflex Reinforce its ARROW®Brand Commitment to "Never Settle" Towards the Goal of Zero Complications in Vascular Care

LIMERICK, Pa--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Teleflex Incorporated (NYS: TFX) , a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, will feature two new ARROW® Vascular Access innovations at the annual Association for Vascular Access conference this week. The ARROW® VPS G4™ Device is a next generation Vascular Positioning System® offering state-of-the-art design and technology for precise and accurate CVC and PICC tip positioning. It features easy-to-follow symbols with further enhancements such as statement of final catheter position and Wi-Fi access to make central catheter placements easier at the bedside. As in previous models, it is indicated for use as an alternative method to fluoroscopy or chest X-ray for central venous catheter tip placement confirmation in adult patients, when a steady Blue Bullseye symbol is obtained.

The ARROW® JACC (Jugular Axillo-subclavian Central Catheter) with Chlorag+ard® Technology is a small-french size antimicrobial and antithrombogenic catheter that is indicated for both acute and long-term use. It is designed specifically to support the emergence of Central Venous Catheter placement by Vascular Access Specialists. Teleflex, through its ARROW® brand, supports and applauds clinicians in expanding their scope of practice to include CVC insertion, now legal in more than forty states.

"Teleflex is proud to introduce these innovative new ARROW® devices," states Kathy Conner, Vice President of Global Marketing. "Because the incidence of infection, occlusion and thrombosis for both CVCs and PICCs is so significant, we are excited to now provide Chlorag+ard® Technology on ARROW® JACC following our 2011 introduction of ARROW® PICC with Chlorag+ard® Technology. Chlorag+ard® is another tool we offer enabling clinicians to fight for zero complications in vascular care. Similarly, our next generation ARROW® VPS G4™ Device uses precise and easy-to-use technology to place CVCs and PICCs in the correct position. We are thrilled with the clinical results VPS® Technology brings to the bedside. It has benefited thousands of patients by eliminating their need for a chest X-ray, allowing them to receive their needed therapy more quickly."

In addition to featuring nine posters unique to Teleflex employees or ARROW® Vascular Access products, the company is sponsoring two symposia during the conference. One highlights placement of CVCs via the Vascular Access Specialist: "Breaking Through: A Guide to Placing CVCs," along with a Platinum Showcase focusing on insertion site alternatives: "When the Arm Is No Longer an Option." The second symposium highlights significant advancements in tip positioning technology with two presentations: "New Advances in ARROW®Vascular Positioning Technology" and "Comparative Data Using PICC Placement Technology - 800 Clinical Cases."
