Google's Best Opportunity to Disrupt Apple Starts Now

What's it take to disrupt Apple ? We may find out soon enough, thanks to Google's new Wallet app, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.

The more comprehensive Wallet stores Google specific offers, coupons, and loyalty card information while also supporting money transfers from either a bank account or credit card.

The features are a significant step up from Apple's Passbook for documents. eBay's PayPal probably has less to worry about because it already serves an installed base numbering in the hundreds of millions, Tim says.

Apple might not be so lucky. Instead, an iOS version of the new Wallet app could entice iPhone users to make Google a default payer for all sorts of everyday items.

Should Apple respond by beefing up iTunes and Passbook before Wallet comes to iOS? Just how big is the opportunity for Google? Tim addresses these questions and more in the video.
