It's doubtful that a $40 billion oil and gas project is the first thing that comes to mind when Kazakhstan comes up in conversation. Perhaps that's because it wasn't mentioned in Sacha Baron Cohen's 2006 film, "Borat". The film came out just a year after the Kashagan oilfield project was supposed to come online.


Fast-forward eight years, and commercial production might finally take place. Some of the biggest oil titans in the world hold up to 16.8% stakes in the project, and, despite the oil's sour nature, this news couldn't be any sweeter for them. Tune in below for more details.
