Standard Register Earns Spot on the 2013 InformationWeek 500 List of Top Technology Innovators

DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Standard Register (NYS: SR) has again been recognized for expertise in harnessing the power of technology as one of the companies on the 2013 InformationWeek 500, marking 14 years on the list of the nation's most innovative users of business technology.

To support its leadership in workflow, communications and analytics, Standard Register has increasingly focused its technology investments to achieve IT and business objectives. An example is an infrastructure solution specifically built for virtualization and hybrid-cloud functionality, which was a highlight of the 2013 InformationWeek 500 nomination.

Leveraging a framework of a traditional storage solution and outsourced IT, the infrastructure was designed to refresh the IT environment and improve recoverability pace. The new hybrid-cloud model improved recovery time by 500 percent. The solution is scalable to meet future needs and satisfies the stringent security and privacy requirements of Standard Register customers in healthcare, banking and other highly regulated industries.

"The results of this new approach, combining our internal expertise and platform with the private cloud storage environment is a good example of our strategy of enhancing business communication with innovative technology solutions," said Joseph P. Morgan, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Standard Register. "We are proud to be recognized among the top companies that are stretching the boundaries with technology-enabled solutions for our customers' businesses as well as for our business."

"The theme of this year's InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It's a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer‐focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear," said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. "Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The organizations in our ranking are leading the way."

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of some of the best‐known organizations in the country. Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology.
