Swisher Hygiene Names New CEO

A new nameplate is gracing the door of the CEO's office at Swisher Hygiene . The company announced that it has appointed 62-year-old William Pierce to be its president and chief executive, effective immediately. He replaces Thomas Byrne, who steps back to take his prior job of executive vice president.

Pierce is a director at the company, having served since this past June, and had also been on its audit and compensation committees from that time. He stepped down from both committees upon his promotion.

Previously, Pierce was senior vice president at privately owned Huizenga Holdings. He was also president of Frederica Hospitality Group, CFO and executive vice president of Dolphins Enterprises (the non-football business operations of the Miami Dolphins), and held the CFO and senior vice president titles at the once publicly traded Boca Resorts.
