Pentagon Awards $903 Million in Contracts Monday
The Department of Defense issued 25 new contracts on Monday worth a little more than $903 million combined. Among the day's notable awards:
NCI's Information Systems division won a $53 million contract modification to provide "fielding and logistics services" to the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office Soldier, an office tasked with developing, acquiring, and fielding state-of-the-art equipment for soldiers in the field.
Science Application International Corp., better known as SAIC , received a $45 million contract modification to perform unspecified "maintenance, repair, and operations" for the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in the Southeast Zone 1 region -- specifically, New Jersey -- through March 31, 2014.
Textron's Bell Helicopter division won an $18.8 million firm-fixed-price contract to supply an unspecified number of main rotor gearbox assemblies to the U.S. Navy by Dec. 31, 2016.
BAE Systems subsidiary Ordnance Systems was awarded an $8 million contract modification to reactivate magnesium nitration nitric acid unit No. 5 at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant Kingsport, Tenn.
and Raytheon got a $19 million modification to a foreign military sales contract, in which it will supply 41 improved thermal sight systems to the Saudi Arabian military for use in LAV-25 light armored vehicles.
