L-3 Communications Wins $357 Million U.S. Army Reserve Contract

L-3 Communicationshas picked up a $357 million contract from the federal government.

On Thursday, L-3 announced that the GSA Federal Systems Integration and Management Center has awarded its National Security Solutions (NSS) Group a task order to perform software development, systems integration, distance learning and IT technical support services in support of the Reserve Component Automation (RCA) program. The task order was issued under L-3's GSA Alliant contract.

RCA is described as "a mission-critical program to modernize and sustain an automated information system that enhances the Army Reserve and National Guard's ability to accomplish unit mobilization planning and readiness and support day-to-day administration." The company plans to be working on this through 2018.
