Telos Contributes Mission Planning, Secure Communications, Network Access Control Technologies to Industry-Government Team Preparing for Disaster Response
NCOIC Member Companies Demo Cloud-based Technology Partnership for NGA
ASHBURN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Three Telos Corporation capabilities were among the technologies demonstrated today to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as part of a disaster-relief simulation headed by the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium. Participating companies cooperated to illustrate how an international relief coordination effort would benefit from a rapid-response, cloud-based communications effort.
The real-time demonstration simulated a relief campaign bringing together an international group of agencies and organizations, using different technologies and applications, coordinated through a quickly enabled, interoperable, hybrid-cloud operating environment. Such coordination of communications technologies during a disaster can save money - and lives - while improving mission speed and reliability.
"Telos mission planning and organizational communications expertise played a key role in today's simulation," said Carl O'Berry, NCOIC chief executive officer. "The availability of these technologies in a disaster, such as the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, on which the simulation was based, would greatly improve the clarity of mission communications while offering the tools to plan and manage recovery missions, gather data and enhance situational awareness."
Telos capabilities included in the simulation were SE7EN: Mission Planner, Telos Secure Information eXchange (T-6), and Telos Secure Directory. SE7EN: Mission Planner is an interactive touch-optimized sand table that lets mission directors digitally design, test and refine mission plans. T-6 provides real-time mission-critical secure communications and collaboration. Telos Secure Directory offers roles- and attribute-based access domain security and access control.
Telos is one of six select NCOIC member companies chosen to take part in this effort, culminating in today's demonstration for NGA and NATO officials. Based on this demo, NCOIC will offer an open process known as the NCOIC Rapid Response Capability (NRRC™) to governments (international, federal, state and local), companies and other organizations that need to build a federated cloud environment in the event of disaster.
