Jacobs Engineering Wins Potential $742 Million NASA Contract
Pasadena, Calif.-based Jacobs Engineering Group has won an up-to-10-year contract to provide core support services to NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
On Tuesday, NASA announced that it has hired Jacobs to assist it in the areas of institutional and research operations, maintenance and engineering. The contract is expected to begin on Nov. 1 and to continue for as long as a decade, if option periods are exercised after the conclusion of an initial base period. Assuming all options are exercised, the contract will be worth approximately $742 million, NASA said.
NASA noted that Jacobs won this work as a follow-on to its role in a previous Research Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, or ROME, contract which NASA expects to "revitalize" the space agency.
