8x8 Strengthens Management Team With Appointment of Darren Hakeman as Senior Vice President of Product & Strategy

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- 8x8, Inc. (NAS: EGHT) , provider of innovative cloud communications and computing solutions, today announced the appointment of Darren Hakeman as Senior Vice President of Product and Strategy, a move that further strengthens its senior management team as the Company enters its next phase of growth.

Hakeman is an accomplished senior executive skilled at formulating and executing strategies for market entry and growth across diverse technologies and products. He brings 20 years of management and operational experience to 8x8, defining and overseeing disciplines including corporate strategy, product management, marketing, engineering, professional services and support and international business development.

Since 2009, Hakeman has worked as a strategic advisor to leading Silicon Valley companies and emerging start-ups including Authentication Metrics, Inc. (now Agari), a cloud-based email security company serving the financial services industry and leading social media sites, Blackfire Research, a solution provider for seamless Wi-Fi streaming of audio and video content from mobile devices and a major global security company, where Hakeman developed global market entry and monetization strategies for multiple technologies and business units and led the launch of an Asia-based technology incubator. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations for a SaaS Business Unit of Lockheed Martin that emerged following Lockheed's acquisition of Savi Technology, Inc, a leading provider of RFID systems and solutions, in 2006. From 1993 through 2006, Hakeman served in various capacities at Savi Technology, from Sr. Director of Product Management, Marketing and Product Strategy to Senior Vice President of Global Services. He holds B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Stanford University.
