The Phoenix Companies, Inc. (NYSE: PNX) Named One of America's Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Phoenix Companies, Inc. (NYS: PNX) was named one of the 2013 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces, a list released by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption earlier this month. Phoenix ranked 34th overall, second within the insurance industry group and eighth among medium-sized companies.
Every year the Foundation announces America's top 100 adoption-friendly employers, leaders in each industry and the top 10 by size, from its annual survey of U.S. employers. Rankings are determined by an analysis of a company's adoption benefits, including the maximum amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for families who adopt. Phoenix has been on the Foundation's list every year since it was launched in 2007.
Phoenix offers its employees up to three weeks of paid leave within the first six months of a child's adoption and pays 80 percent of eligible adoption-related expenses, up to $9,000 per adoption or up to $10,000 for a special needs child. These benefits can be used for up to two adoptions.
