Semtech Enables the Future of Video Transport with Industry's First 6G UHD-SDI Adaptive Cable Equalizer Platform and Cable Driver Platform at IBC 2013

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Semtech Corporation (NAS: SMTC) , a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced the availability of its 6G UHD-SDI GS6042 adaptive cable equalizer and GS6080 6G UHD-SDI cable driver, two chips that provide the longest full-speed transmission distance for ultra high-definition systems.
These parts are the latest additions to Semtech's comprehensive, end-to-end platform of 6G-UHD-SDI video solutions. Semtech's Gennum Product Group will be showcasing these parts at the International Broadcast Convention (IBC) show in Amsterdam in Hall 10 booth F30.
The GS6042 delivers the industry's longest cable reach at 6G UHD-SDI data rates. The part also features best-in-class cable reach at 3G, HD and SD data-rates. In order to facilitate a simple transition from existing 3G board designs, the GS6042 is also footprint compatible with Semtech's existing GS3440 long reach equalizer.
In addition, the GS6080 is the industry's first 6G UHD-SDI cable driver and in conjunction with the GS6042 equalizer, form the industry's best performing solution for 6G UHD-SDI connectivity. For applications requiring more than one output, the GS6081 features dual 6G-UHD-SDI outputs.
At the IBC show, the Semtech booth will feature a 6G UHD-SDI partner wall that showcases the current 6G-UHD-SDI systems designed using Semtech technology. Semtech will be hosting an invitation-only VIP suite to demonstrate its next-generation UHD-SDI solutions.
