Rent-A-Center Keeps Dividend Steady

Rent-A-Center has announced plans to keep its dividend steady at $0.21 per share going into the fourth quarter.

The company has paid the same amount since January, after boosting its payout 31% from $0.16 per share of common stock. The rent-to-own operator has issued a consecutive quarterly dividend to investors since August 2010, and its payout amount has grown 250% since then.

The most recent dividend will be payable on Oct. 24 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 1. On an annualized basis, the company's dividend adds up to $0.84 per share. As of the market's close on Sept. 9, Rent-A-Center's stock price was $37.09, which means the company's dividend currently yields 2.3%.
