American InterContinental University's Human Resource Management BBA and MBA Programs Align with SHRM Curriculum Standards

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- American InterContinental University (AIU), an established institution offering both campus-based and online business degrees, today announced that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that AIU's HR-focused degree programs fully align with SHRM's HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. The programs include AIU's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs with specializations in Human Resource Management.

"Alignment with the SHRM standards means that AIU graduates with a specialization in Human Resource Management can gain specific skills sought by employers," said Dr. Greg Washington, provost and vice president of campus operations at AIU.

SHRM's HRCurriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed to define content areas that should be studied by HR students. The SHRM validation means AIU's Human Resource Management specializations provide students with the skills needed to be successful human resource professionals.

The recognition echoes AIU's commitment to providing students a specialized, career-focused curriculum. At AIU, students can take more courses devoted to their field of study, on average, than at other similar schools. More than half of students' courses at AIU are focused in their field of study to help prepare them for their desired career.

"SHRM alignment is further testimony to the breadth and depth of the industry-current and relevant curriculum in AIU's business administration programs, which are already accredited by ACBSP, the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs," Washington said. "This recognition is a prestigious stamp of approval for AIU's Human Resource Management specializations."

SHRM is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. The society has recognized 331 programs in 250 educational institutions around the globe as being aligned with its HRCurriculum Guidebook and Templates.
