Ventev Wireless Infrastructure Eases the Transition to Fifth-Generation Wi-Fi With Introduction of Industry's Broadest Line of 802.11n/ac Antennas

TerraWave Solutions Antennas Feature Options for Immediate or Gradual Adoption of IEEE's Very-High-Throughput 802.11ac Wireless Standard

HUNT VALLEY, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ventev Wireless Infrastructure, a division of TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NAS: TESS) , today announced a comprehensive line of TerraWave Solutions 802.11n/ac antennas that support both existing 802.11n networks and new 802.11ac networks. The new line enables IT managers to future-proof their wireless infrastructure investment by providing the flexibility to immediately transition or gradually upgrade to 802.11ac.

802.11ac, the emerging fifth-generation Wi-Fi standard from the IEEE, is a faster, more reliable, and scalable version of 802.11n that combines the advantages of wireless with the capabilities of Gigabit Ethernet. With increased channel bonding, denser modulation, and more multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) data throughput, 802.11ac achieves higher speeds over wider bandwidths. All 802.11n/ac antennas from Ventev's TerraWave Solutions are compatible with the newest 802.11ac access points from Cisco, Aruba, Meru, and Motorola, as well as 802.11n access points currently in use.

Enterprises everywhere are looking for ways to manage the increasing number of mobile devices and high-bandwidth applications attempting to access their networks while providing reliable high data rates. Many are beginning the transition to 802.11ac, while others are opting for an overlay to their existing 802.11n network or deploying single 802.11ac networks that support both 802.11n and 802.11ac devices.

Ventev's TerraWave line of competitively priced 802.11n/ac antennas is the broadest offering available on the market. It includes 3-, 4-, and 6-lead patch antennas, as well as 3-, 4-, and 6-lead omnidirectional antennas. 802.11n/ac patch antennas support directional or point-to-point applications such as large-file medical imaging in hospitals, HD video conferencing for large enterprises, and large public venues (LPVs) with a growing number of wireless consumers. 802.11n/ac omni antennas offer improved enterprise-class reliability for mission-critical applications such as mobile CRM and Lync enterprise messaging, while enabling organizations such as universities to optimize networks for the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend whereby one employee, student, or patron might carry two or even three 802.11 devices that consume network resources all at once.
