Kangaroo Express Takes a Flaky Twist on Classic American Hot Dog for New Sausage Biscuit Breakfast Offering

New on-the-go breakfast item included in $2 Breakfast Combo and Grill Deals

CARY, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kangaroo Express, the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States, operated by The Pantry, Inc. (NAS: PTRY) , today announced the Jimmy Dean® Sausage and Biscuit Bun, its exclusive new breakfast biscuit, is rolling in on the grill to its 1,160 grill-ready stores.

Taking a twist on the classic American hot dog, the Jimmy Dean® Sausage and Biscuit Bun pairs an exclusively-baked hot dog bun-shaped flaky biscuit and a link of Jimmy Dean® Breakfast Sausage.

Guests can stop by any grill-ready Kangaroo Express between 6 and 10 a.m. to enjoy the new breakfast item for only $1.39. The Jimmy Dean Sausage and Biscuit Bun will be included in Kangaroo Express' $2 Breakfast Combo paired with the choice of a 16-ounce Bean Street Coffee or milk. Guests can also enjoy their Sausage and Biscuit Bun for just $1 with another grill item purchase.

"Now guests will be able to start the morning with the classic taste of Jimmy Dean sausage and a flaky biscuit bun in a form they already know and love - the hot dog," said Joe Venezia, senior vice president of operations, Kangaroo Express. "Perhaps the greatest discovery in bread since it was sliced; our biscuit bun shows that while biscuits were always delicious, they had room to improve. Breakfast is complete with a cup of hot, fresh Bean Street Coffee, all for just $2."

Bean Street Coffee is the unique brand of coffee served only at Kangaroo Express convenience stores. It can be customized with options such as sweeteners and flavor shots, including caramel and vanilla, and additions such as extra boosts of caffeine and whipped topping.

The new offering is part of Kangaroo Express' mission to provide an even wider variety of fresh, fast food options for guests on-the-go.
