International Trade Commission Institutes Investigation of Electronics Manufacturers Based upon Straight Path's Complaint

GLEN ALLEN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Straight Path IP Group, Inc. (SPIPG), a subsidiary of Straight Path Communications Inc. (NYSE MKT: STRP), said today that the International Trade Commission (ITC) has ordered an investigation of Certain Point-to-Point Network Communication Devices and Products Containing Same (Inv. No. 337-TA-892) based upon the complaint SPIPG filed on August 1, 2013.


The ITC has ordered an investigation of whether respondents LG Electronics, Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio have violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, by importing products that infringe SPIPG's patents. SPIPG is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders on the importation of the manufacturers' products.
