ICF Wins Contract with Total Potential Value of up to $9.1 million to Help European Commission Stimulate Employment

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ICF International (NAS: ICFI) , a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a new contract to establish the European Employment Policy Observatory (EEPO). The one-year contract, awarded to London-based ICF GHK, has a value of up to $2.3 million over 12 months and can be extended for a further three years, with a total potential value of up to $9.1 million.

In setting up the EEPO, ICF GHK will:

  • establish and manage a network of experts across Europe who will offer in-depth knowledge and expertise on labor market skills and employment issues, country specific conditions and policy and program interventions to stimulate jobs and reduce unemployment.

  • coordinate the preparation of a series of analytical reports on key labor market issues to help inform policy making and practice.

  • develop and implement a communication strategy to optimize the distribution and dissemination of emerging evidence.

Eleanor Breen, vice president for ICF International, added: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to set up the European Employment Policy Observatory. It will play a key role in providing labor market intelligence to support the European Commission and European nations in the effective design and delivery of policies to stimulate job growth, reduce unemployment and assist jobseekers into sustainable employment."

Jeanne Townend, executive vice president for ICF International said: "We are honored to have been selected to carry out such important and meaningful work for the European Commission and look forward to playing our part in helping to support employment growth across Europe."

The EEPO provides country specific policy assessment and thematic monitoring at the European Union level linked to the goals of the European Employment Strategy. It also supports the creation of evidence based policy making on employment and labor mobility, and supports monitoring and evaluating practices of employment services, including their assessment of return on investment.
