American Science & Engineering Wins Government X-Ray Work

American Science & Engineering announced today that the government has awarded it an optionable contract to service and maintain, and provide spare parts for, its fleet of X-ray detection systems. These systems include airport devices for examining passengers prior to boarding, cargo inspection systems for use at ports, and even the company's Z Backscatter vans for mobile inspection of suspicious objects.

The company said that if all options are exercised, the contract should be worth up to $12.4 million to the company. That would work out to about 6.8% of the company's annual revenues.
