Trinity Industries Raises Dividend

Trinity Industries is putting some zip in its shareholder payout. The company has declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.15 per share, to be paid on October 31 to shareholders of record as of October 15. That amount is $0.02, or 15%, higher than the firm's previous distribution of $0.13 paid at the end of July.

The firm is a very consistent and dependable dividend payer. In the press release announcing the upcoming disbursement, it pointed out that the payout will be its 198th in a row.

The new dividend annualizes to $0.60 per share. That yields 1.4% at Trinity Industries' current stock price of $43.57.
