Hewlett-Packard Announces Pentagon Work
Hewlett-Packard will be working to improve security and data services for the new Joint Verification System at the Pentagon's Defense Manpower Data Center.
The three-year, $56 million task order that HP announced Thursday calls upon the company to "monitor, maintain and enhance the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Defense Central Index of Investigations, Improved Investigative Records Repository and the Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission," all in order to improve personnel security management for Pentagon personnel, military servicemen and women, and for the Pentagon's civilian employees and contractors.
This task order was awarded to HP's Enterprise Services division, which was named in May as one of 15 winners of a $900 million Pentagon contract to perform various "business and force support" services for the U.S. Navy, competing for individual task orders as they were announced. On Friday, a Pentagon representative confirmed by email that Thursday's task order was not issued pursuant to the May contract.
