Student contributors provide insight into topics that matter to today's high school and college students

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Fastweb (www.fastweb.com), the leading website for scholarship and financial aid information and a member of the Monster.com network, introduced for the new school year, Student Soundoff. This is the new and improved information resource on Fastweb written by students, for students. The team of student contributors brings depth, diversity and authentic student insight to Fastweb which has helped students pay for school for more than 18 years.

In June, an outreach campaign was conducted, whereby Fastweb students with English and journalism related majors and interests were offered the opportunity to apply. They were required to submit a writing sample detailing their use of Fastweb and their scholarship search experiences. Nearly 3 dozen applications were received and final selections were made based on overall writing skills and academic year.

The new, talented writers joined the existing team to become the 9 member Student Soundoff team for 2013. Their articles will provide perspective and learning opportunities that will appeal to high school, as well as existing college students. Specific article topics are set to include, the college admissions process, standardized testing, study tips, college coursework, student life experiences and applying for scholarships.

"Our goal is to provide students with the most helpful tools and information to make the best decisions possible when it comes to their education. With Student Soundoff, we're doing just that and are proud to be offering real-life, relevant content to our members from others going through the exact same experiences they are", says Mark Nelson, Fastweb's Director.

The new Student Soundoff page is now active and contains articles from the entire talented team. The new contributors are Maya Moritz, Jamie Vincent, Kara Nelson and Diane Won.
