USMD Adds Four Physicians to Support Growing Healthcare Needs of Communities and Patients

New Physicians Help USMD Expand Healthcare Services to More Patients across Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- USMD Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: USMD), a physician-led integrated healthcare system, announced today that four new physicians — Karen Klatte, M.D.; Aungel Evans, M.D.; Robin Johnston, M.D.; and Ayesha Khan, D.O. — have joined USMD Affiliated Services. These new physicians have been added to support the growing healthcare needs of the communities USMD serves.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dallas ranks seventh on the list of cities with the largest population increases, and Fort Worth ranks tenth. Adding these physicians will allow USMD to continue providing our patients with high-quality, affordable and personalized medical care."

Dr. Klatte, a cardiologist, has joined USMD at its Midlothian location. Adding a second cardiologist to USMD's growing network of physicians was necessary since heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death worldwide.

Dr. Evans and Dr. Johnston will join USMD's team of obstetrics and gynecology physicians, bringing the total number of OB/GYNs at USMD to 34. Dr. Khan will join USMD as a family practice physician, bringing the total number of family practitioners at USMD to 26.

Dr. Karen Klatte completed her fellowship in cardiology at St. Louis University Hospital and her residency in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center. She received her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School.

Dr. Aungel Evans will provide on-call coverage for obstetrics and gynecology physicians at the Arlington and Mansfield Clinics. Dr. Evans completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University and received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Robin Johnstonwill also provide on-call coverage for obstetrics and gynecology physicians at the Arlington and Mansfield Clinics. Dr. Johnston completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Memorial Hospital and received her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School.

Dr. Ayesha Khan will practice at USMD's Saginaw Clinic. Dr. Khan completed her residency in family medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and received her medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
