Campbell to Sell K-Cup Soup Packs

How about some soup to go along with your coffee? Campbell Soup and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters have announced a collaboration by which the former's signature product will be available in K-Cups, the pods used in Green Mountain's Keurig brewers. In addition to the pod containing the broth, each soup will be accompanied by a packet filled with pasta and a vegetable blend garnish.

The K-Cup packages, collectively branded Campbell's Fresh-Brewed Soup, will hit the market early next year. Initially, they will be available in three varieties, including a version of the soup maker's classic Homestyle Chicken Broth & Noodle.

The new product is an attempt to capitalize on a growing trend. In a joint press release unveiling the new product, Campbell Soup and Green Mountain said: "[S]nacking is a growing behavior among U.S. consumers, with more than half snacking multiple times a day. Consumers are also looking for snacks that serve as mini-meals to satisfy hunger."
