IN.gov Implements Website Redesign and Adds New Features to Assist Indiana's Veterans
New site highlights service offerings for Indiana Veterans
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IN.gov and the Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs (IDVA) have completed a redesign of the IDVA website (http://www.in.gov/dva), including many new features designed to assist the nearly 550,000 veterans living within the State of Indiana.
"IDVA is very excited about the new website design and the ability to better serve Indiana's veterans through the newly implemented features," said Jim Brown, Director of Veteran Affairs. "All veterans can now quickly retrieve information and take advantage of all the benefits that they deserve."
Since being established in 1945, IDVA has been focused on assisting Hoosier veterans and their families with benefits provided by the State and Federal government. IDVA tasked IN.gov to increase accessibility of information to veterans who may not have visited their county office.
The website redesign involved early migration of the old IDVA site to the latest state design allowing all resources to be easily readable on a computer, tablet, or mobile device. Content was restructured and paired down to help streamline the process for veterans seeking information. Large graphics directly linking to important information for veterans were added to the homepage to allow information to be easily located.
Finally, as part of a joint effort between IDVA and the Lt. Governor's office, IN.gov launched a new custom-built section in the IDVA website for Veteran Opportunity Partners across the state. The Veteran Opportunity Partner program consists of members from various businesses offering either employment or other benefits to Veterans of the Armed Forces. These businesses can complete one of the two online web forms to join. Once approved, the business is featured on the website for offering Employment or Services as a Veteran Opportunity Partner. By mid-September, veterans will be able to visit these sections on the website to search for and find jobs, discounts, or other services offered to them by the Indiana businesses participating in the program.
