Cisco Keeps Dividend Steady

Cisco Systems is continuing to beam its shareholder payout across the wires and into the ether. The company has declared its latest quarterly common stock dividend, which is to be $0.17 per share paid on Oct. 23 to shareholders of record as of October 3. That amount matches both of the firm's previous distributions, the most recent of which was dispensed in late July. Before that, Cisco paid three pennies less, or $0.14 per share.

The company is a relative newcomer to the world of shareholder payouts. It only started handing out a distribution in April 2011.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $0.68 per share. That yields 2.9% at Cisco's most recent closing stock price of $23.48.
