Pentagon Awards 4 Logistics Contracts Friday
The U.S. Department of Defense announced no fewer than 35 separate contract awards in a single day Friday -- quite possibly a new record, or at least a recent record. Among the nearly three dozen awards handed out, four benefited the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency.
won a $24.1 million contract to supply the Army with rotary wing blades.
Philips' Healthcare division won a $46.2 million fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment contract for unspecified "multi-vendor maintenance services" in Washington state. This contract is awarded for five years, through Aug. 31, 2018, and benefits the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.
Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ortho Clinical Diagnostics was awarded a $13.1 million fourth option-year exercise (out of seven possible) on a contract to supply "various medical and surgical products" to Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps locations, and federal civilian agencies, in New York state, through Sept. 1, 2014.
Finally, Aeroflex won a $9 million sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to supply radio test sets to U.S. Navy locations in Kansas.
