CLIFTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Three Exelis (NYSE: XLS) Electronic Systems (ES) employees will be honored as Technology Rising Stars at the Women of Color STEM Conference in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 17-19, 2013.

Jemma Pham, software engineer with Exelis Electronic Systems division, will be honored as a Technology Rising Star at the Women of Color STEM Conference in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 17-19, 2013. Jemma Pham, software engineer; Xiaochun Fisher, system modeling engineer; and Bobbette Kelly, senior systems engineer, will receive 2013 National Women of Color Technology Awards for their accomplishments in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)-related fields.


The three Exelis employees are being recognized as distinguished innovators in their respective fields. Pham was noted for her ability to quickly adapt her knowledge to take on a critical role within her information assurance product portfolio. Fisher's innovation and expertise in product testing procedures made her a stand-out candidate for the award, and Kelly's curiosity and energy have made her a highly successful lead engineer on several projects including creating and improving complex electronic warfare modeling simulations.

Sponsored by the Career Communications Group, the awards are given annually to young women of color who show promise and outstanding achievement in their chosen disciplines. Nomination criteria include an honoree's potential to advance their fields and contribute to the future of technology.
