EMC Insurance Keeps Dividend Steady

EMC Insurance this week declared plans to keep its quarterly dividend payout steady at $0.21 per share of common stock.

The insurance company has paid this amount to investors since November 2012, after raising its amount by 5% from $0.20. EMC's latest dividend will be payable on Sept. 17 to stockholders of record as of Sept. 10, and marks the company's 127th consecutive quarterly dividend since going public in February 1982.

On an annualized basis, EMC's most recent payout factors out to $0.84 per share of common stock. The company's stock price was $26.89 as of the market's close on Aug. 28, which means its latest quarterly dividend yields approximately 3.1%.
