Harrington College of Design Appoints Max S. Shangle as President

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Harrington College of Design, a leading provider of design education in Chicago, is pleased to announce Max S. Shangle as the institution's new president. Shangle joins Harrington from Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, Mich., where his 30-year tenure just concluded as Dean of the College and Chief Academic Officer.

Shangle's Kendall College career included a variety of different administrative and instructional roles, including serving as the Department Chair of the Furniture Design Program. He brings with him experience developing new academic programs, designing scholarship programs with industry partners and leading complex reaccreditation processes.

A leader in the furniture industry, Shangle often serves on design competition juries, including the Pinnacle Awards for American Society of Furniture Designers. He continues to serve occasionally as an expert witness in product liability and design infringement cases involving furniture products.
