Pentagon Awards $1.95 Billion in New Contracts
The U.S. Department of Defense announced new defense contracts totaling nearly $1.95 billion in total value Monday. Among the publicly traded companies winning awards:
Dell won a $24.9 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract to issue the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Specialized and Operational Branch 100,000 Hypervisor software licenses "with first year software maintenance included." A hypervisor is used to enable the use of multiple operating systems on a single host computer.
Rockwell Collins won a $10.4 million firm-fixed-price, no option, non-multiyear contract to supply anywhere from 160 to 1152 display units for use in Army Blackhawk helicopters.
Rolls-Royce was awarded a $9.3 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide engineering technical services and contactor field services on engines used aboard Navy AV-8B and E-2C/D Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft. Work under this contract is expected to be complete by August 2016.
Boeing won a $9.3 million firm-fixed-price contract to supply the Defense Logistics Agency, Aviation with an unspecified number of "Electro-ME actuators" through Aug. 26, 2016.
And finally, Lockheed Martin won a cost-plus-fixed-fee, no option, non-multiyear contract worth up to $7.3 million to provide engineering services and support for enhanced launcher electronics systems and fire solution computer software and hardware used in the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) air defense system.
