LifePoint Names New CFO

LifePoint Hospitals has a new CFO.

On Wednesday, the hospital chain announced that current Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey S. Sherman "is leaving the Company to pursue another opportunity in Dallas, Texas, that is located closer to his family." Sherman, who is departing the company on Sept. 14, will be replaced by company Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Leif Murphy, who will retain these existing roles in addition to taking over the CFO post.

Murphy has worked for LifePoint for the past two years and worked in the health-care industry for the past 20, including in the capacities of treasurer of CVS Caremark, and chief executive officer of DSI Renal, a dialysis services company.
