Cathay General Maintains Penny-Per-Share Dividend

Cathay General Bancorp is continuing to hand out its small change for shareholder distributions. The financial-services company has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.01 per share, to be paid on Sept. 13 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 3. That amount matches all of the company's previous distributions stretching back to August 2009.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $0.04 per share. That yields 0.2% at Cathay General's most recent closing stock price of $23.44.

The announcement comes nearly a month after the company reported its Q2 results. For the quarter, the company's net income available to common stockholders was slightly higher on a year-over-year basis, at $27.8 million compared with the $25.7 million of Q2 2012. Net total loans were $7.5 billion, an improvement over the $7.2 billion at the end of last year.
