Flowers Foods Declares Fresh Dividend

Dividends remain in bloom for Flowers Foods . The company has declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.1125 per share, to be paid on September 13 to shareholders of record as of August 30. That amount matches the firm's preceding payout, which was dispensed in June. At that time, Flowers Foods also split its stock 3-for-2. Prior to the split, the company had paid a distribution of $0.16 per share.

The company garnered headlines earlier this year when it successfully bid for a portfolio of brands from Hostess Brands. These offerings include Wonder Bread and Nature's Pride. The acquisition closed in July.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $0.45 per share. That yields just over 2% at Flowers Foods' most recent closing stock price of $22.15.
