25 billion hours have been spent playing Call of Duty

A staggering 25 billion hours, or the equivalent to 2.85 million years, have been spent playing games in Activision's Call of Dutyseries. Ahead today's Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer unveiling, the publisher released a infographic that shows some incredible facts about the hugely popular franchise.

Some of the highlights include:

  • The total number of people that have played Call of Duty (100 million) is greater than the population of the United Kingdom, Germany, or France.

  • The 31 billion care packages called in since 2009's Modern Warfare 2 are enough to build 15,000 Great Pyramids of Giza or 100 Great Walls of China

  • The total hours spent playing Call of Duty (2.85 million years) is longer than the entirety of human existence
