Social network Facebook is simply crushing it in mobile, which has led to year-to-date gains of nearly 40%. The company has successfully put fears of mobile monetization to rest, and 71% of Facebook's user base now access the service through mobile platforms.
Despite criticisms that Facebook has begun to imitate competitors like Twitter, the underlying business remains strong and Facebook continues to experiment with incremental opportunities to continue building the business. Borrowing ideas from rivals can help the company remain competitive with other social media plays.
