Mobile Adoption Fuels SHI International Corp. Revenue Growth in First Half 2013

SHI's revenue grew 11.75 percent year over year in the first half of 2013, in part due to increased adoption of mobile devices and solutions

SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SHI International Corp., one of North America's top 20 largest IT solutions providers, recorded revenue of $2.3 billion for the first half of 2013, representing an 11.75 percent increase year over year. The legacy enterprise and public sector rose 4 percent in the first half of 2013 over the same period last year, while the five-year-old corporate division, which serves small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), surged 39 percent in revenue compared to the first half of 2012. SHI's international business finished the first half of 2013 up 21 percent year over year.

A significant amount of this ongoing revenue growth is attributable to accelerated adoption of mobile devices and solutions. The second quarter of 2013 saw massive jumps in sales for mobile-centric partners, such as Apple (up 64 percent), Samsung (up 103 percent), and Lenovo (up 54 percent).

"The flexibility and expertise of our hardware and software teams allowed us to help a significant number of SHI customers update their mobility capabilities in the second quarter," said Hal Jagger, Vice President and General Manager of SHI Corporate Sales. "By teaching both new and existing customers how their investments in Microsoft and data center technologies can be leveraged to provide better agility and mobility, we help our clients help their end users remain competitive."

As SHI's revenue continues to grow, the corporate division continues adding to its ranks, and recently completed an office expansion in Austin to accommodate new personnel. In addition to growing the business, SHI's work continued to earn an array of awards. In the second quarter of 2013, SHI earned the Microsoft Operational Excellence Award for the 10th consecutive year. SHI was also named Microsoft U.S. Channel Partner of the Year in two categories—State and Local Government Partner, as well as Education. In addition, SHI netted a Sophos Top Producer Award, which recognized the company's growth, commitment, and success.

"Our corporate division's first half 2013 growth has been fueled by a consistent balance of new customers and new business from existing customers, especially for mobility, storage, networking, and advanced solutions," said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI International Corp. "As our corporate division turns five, our explosive revenue growth, expanding team, and award-winning service all point to the tireless work of our employees, who every day equip our customers with the hardware and software needed to support their business goals."
