CAC-Florida Medical Centers Expands to Tampa Bay
South Florida-based health care company to open two new, full-service medical centers in early fall
TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CAC-Florida Medical Centers (CAC) announced today that the Miami-based health care company plans to open two new medical centers in Tampa Bay early this fall, bringing its unique full-service, multi-specialty, coordinated care approach to people in the bay area.
CAC-Florida Medical Centers will hire close to 40 associates to staff the two Tampa centers, one facility at 4340 W. Hillsborough Ave. and a second facility at 8326 N. Florida Ave, occupying nearly 25,000 square feet. Each CAC location will also include a separate Wellness Center where patients can participate in a wide range of social, health and lifestyle classes and activities, including on-site exercise classes through the SilverSneakers Fitness Program, the nation's leading exercise program for older adults.
In 2012, CAC expanded from its South Florida base to Central Florida, opening centers in Kissimmee and in the Pine Hills area of Orlando. The company will also add a third Central Florida center in early fall in the Semoran area of Orlando and will extend its South Florida presence into Broward County.
Both new Tampa full-service, multi-specialty medical centers will offer comprehensive outpatient medical care, including primary and specialty care, pharmacy services, pain management treatment and diagnostic testing. Physicians will be available 24 hours a day and transportation to the centers will be provided to patients in accordance with their health plan benefits.

Many CAC associates are bilingual and some are even tri-lingual.
All of CAC's medical centers have achieved certification by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a level one Physician Practice Connections® - Patient-Centered Medical Home™, recognizing the company's long-time commitment to high quality primary and preventive patient care at its medical centers. In 2012, CAC also received additional recognition from NCQA for its achievement in Patient Centered Home measureable quality improvements.
CAC-Florida Medical Centers has also achieved three-year recognition through the Diabetes Recognition Program developed by NCQA and the American Diabetes Association to recognize physicians who have an established track record of providing excellent diabetes care to patients.

CAC currently owns and operates 15 medical centers in South and Central Florida. Its medical centers serve Medicare Advantage members of CarePlus Health Plans, a Miami-based Medicare HMO with members in Tampa Bay, and patients with Original Medicare. The company also offers an affordable fee schedule for self-pay patients.
