NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Oliver Wyman, the international management consulting firm, today announced that Jeffrey Brown has joined the firm as a Partner in its Public Policy practice.
Mr. Brown will focus on the strategic issues related to a range of public policy initiatives including board governance, capital planning, risk management, regulatory remediation, mortgage banking and model governance in his advisory work for the firm's financial services and public sector clients. He will be based in the Washington, DC office.
"We are delighted to welcome Jeff to Oliver Wyman," said Michael Poulos, Head of Oliver Wyman's Financial Services practice for the Americas. "As a former senior banking regulator, a quantitative economist and a consulting advisor, Jeff's experience is a powerful combination that enhances our firm's ability to deliver meaningful impact for our clients," added James Wiener, Partner and Head of Oliver Wyman's Public Policy practice in the Americas.
"I am excited about this opportunity. My career has been centered around the intersection of good modeling and regulation. Now more than ever before, financial regulation has become reliant on good modeling and Oliver Wyman is well positioned to help clients meet the needs created by that development," said Jeffrey Brown.
Mr. Brown served with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for two decades. From 2003-2006, he served as the OCC's Senior Deputy Comptroller for International and Economic Affairs and was a member of the OCC's Executive Committee, which sets the strategic direction for the agency. During his tenure with the Risk Analysis Division from 1993-2003, Mr. Brown rose from Deputy Director to Director and led the development of an OCC unit that is widely recognized as the premier provider of quantitative economic modeling expertise in bank examination. He started his career with the OCC in 1987 as a Financial Economist and in 1992 became Deputy Director of Banking Research and Statistics, where he was tasked with conducting research into the causes of performance and risk differences across banks.
