Utah.gov OnTime Updates Application to Give UTA Riders More Accurate Information

Track Buses and Trains in Real-Time From Your Mobile Device

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Thousands of Utah's most savvy commuters know the secret to answer the one question most UTA riders have when they want to catch a ride on a train or bus, "Did I miss the bus?" Since the fall of 2012 the new Utah.Gov OnTime site, (ontime.utah.gov), has given riders real-time public transit information to mobile phones or desktops free of charge.


Today, OnTime announces an update to its online transit tracking application. This update includes several new features that allow UTA riders to easily and conveniently understand where trains and busses are located.

The following enhancements were made:

  • New vehicle icons indicate their current direction

  • Faster vehicle location updates

  • Schedule times for all stops

  • Added search feature to the routes page

  • Several other user experience updates based on user feedback

OnTime allows riders to track bus and train location on an easy to navigate map with stop locations and route information in real-time on a smart phone, tablet, or desktop computer. In addition, riders can sign up to receive scheduled text message alerts notifying them when a bus or train is nearby.
