Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA) Selects Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne to House IT Infrastructure

Data center reliability, redundancy, and security are critical priorities for nonprofit organization

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (NAS: CONE) announced today that it has been selected to house the IT infrastructure of the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA). TOSA is responsible for coordinating organ and tissue donations at more than 100 hospitals and six transplant centers in central and south Texas.

"Early on in the vendor selection process, CyrusOne emerged as the clear choice to meet our top data center requirements of power, redundancy, and 100 percent uptime," said Eric Elliott, chief information officer at TOSA. "Our organization relies on an electronic organ allocation system to help save lives, so it's imperative our computing infrastructure be secure and accessible at any given moment. The redundancies built into CyrusOne's facilities for power, cooling, and connectivity and their track record of availability and uptime are among the best we've seen."

Founded in 1975, TOSA is dedicated to educating and providing organ donation and recovery services to families wishing to donate and to those waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. It is one of 58 nonprofit, independent, federally designated organ procurement organizations in the United States.

"We're very pleased to welcome TOSA as a customer in CyrusOne's San Antonio data center," said Tesh Durvasula, chief commercial officer at CyrusOne. "Our site is the most advanced facility of its kind serving the San Antonio market. It's engineered with fully redundant (2N) power architecture and fed by redundant power lines with multiple major fiber providers enabling connectivity. I'm confident it will provide TOSA with the exceptional availability and reliability it needs to continue its life-saving mission of connecting organ donors and recipients."
