EMCOR Group Misses on Both Revenue and Earnings

EMCOR Group (NYS: EME) reported earnings on July 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.48. The five earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.52 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.48 for Q2 were 2.0% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.49 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.31 for Q2 were 37% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.49 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 11.5%, 70 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 2.5%, 100 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 1.3%, 80 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.71 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.59.
