Nutrisystem Beats Expectations But Takes A Step Back Anyway
Nutrisystem (NAS: NTRI) reported earnings on July 29. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.22. The five earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.18 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.22 for Q2 were 57% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.14 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 51.0%, 430 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 10.1%, 80 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 6.5%, 320 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $80.7 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.12.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $352.7 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.32.
