AVG Gets a New CEO

Amsterdam-based Internet company AVG Technologies has a new CEO.

On Tuesday, AVG announced that it has named Gary Kovacs as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Kovacs comes from Firefox Web browser developer Mozilla Corp., where he had spent the past 25 years, including, most recently, as the company's CEO and was responsible for expanding the company's desktop and mobile businesses

Joining AVG, Kovacs described his primary mission at his new home as to help "secure" the "two and a half billion people online and ... another two and a half billion people coming online in the next five years."
