Jones Group Beats on Both Top and Bottom Lines

EPS came in at $0.02. The six earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast -$0.12 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.02 for Q2 were 91% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.22 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.05 for Q2 versus $0.10 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 35.6%, 260 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.3%, 120 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -0.4%, 130 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.05 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.58.
