Facebook Brings Embedded Posts to Websites

Today Facebooklaunched a new feature that allows users to embed Facebook posts directly into their personal websites. The company said in blog post that Embedded Posts can include pictures, videos, hashtags and other content from Facebook's site.

Facebook said the embedded feature will allow web users to view Facebook posts through websites and blogs, with the ability to like and share the posts directly from those sites. The company gave three examples of how users can interact with embedded posts, including clicking a hashtag about the royal baby from the British monarchy's page, liking tennis player Andy Murray, or following journalist Fareed Zakaria directly from a post.

The company said in the announcement that only posts that are set to public status on Facebook will have the availability to be embedded into websites. Facebook is launching the new feature in collaboration with CNN, Huffington Post, Bleacher Report, People, and Mashable first, with "broader availability coming soon."
