Advent Software (NAS: ADVS) reported earnings on July 29. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.37. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.30 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.37 for Q2 were 54% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.24 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.08 for Q2 against $0.14 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 81.3%, much better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 5.2%, 820 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -4.2%, much worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $95.0 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.26.
