Yahoo! and NBC to Launch a Pair of Sports Shows

One of the more interesting sports alliances this summer is the teaming of Yahoo! and Comcast's NBC. The two have announced they will collaborate to bring a pair of athletically themed shows to market. The one-hour programs -- Fantasy Football Live-Thursday Night! and SportsDash with Yahoo! Sports -- will combine elements of TV broadcasting and web presentation.

In the case of the former, the show's first half-hour will go out across NBC Sports Network, then move to the digital space "for another 30 minutes of analysis, picks, intel, news and fun," in Yahoo!'s words. SportsDash will cover a range of sports in the form of a daily offering that will air in the afternoon on the same channel, integrating stories and data that appear on Yahoo! Sports.

The two shows are the first products of the broadcasting partnership between the two firms that was announced last December.

Fantasy Football Live will debut this Thursday, while SportsDash's first episode will air August 19.
